New feature: Finnish address lookup for FI Tupas / BankID FI

Scheduled for Oct 14, 12:00 - 13:00 CEST

Scheduled

We are pleased to announce a new capability in E-Ident for the Finnish market. Customers using FI Tupas / BankID FI can now request the end-user's address as part of the identification process.

What is new?
With this enhancement, E-Ident can perform an address lookup during the identification flow for FI Tupas / BankID FI. The address is retrieved from the relevant Finnish identity provider and, when available, returned to the customer as part of the ID Token in JSON format.

This feature is supported for the banks available through the E-Ident FTN integration.

How does it work?
To request the end-user's address, the customer needs to include the following scopes in the identification request:
ssn
address

The login_hint parameter can also be provided optionally.

When the address is successfully retrieved, the ID Token will contain an address object with the available address information, such as:
Street address
Locality
Postal code
Country

If the address lookup is not requested, there is no change to the existing ID Token response.

Note: The feature is available in preprod.
